How Do We Let Go and Let God?

How Do We Give Up Control?

“For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being,” - Ephesians‬ ‭3:14-16‬

Man...we are getting into the meat of it now. Incredible stuff here from Paul. A few questions:

- how often do you kneel and pray. Kneel before the Father? Try it....

The sentiment of kneeling before God is a strong one.  God is our King. He is the ruler over everything. Not just the universe and all that’s in it but your life.  All that you struggle with, all that you rejoice over, He is over all of it. Our lives, our homes, our families, our jobs, our finances.  All of it. Maybe make this a new habit to form. Actually getting out of bed in the morning, kneeling and presenting the day to your Father and King. Could be an interesting experiment.

Reflect...

Do you feel strengthened by the Father? Do you pray for his strength? Try it....

Paul is letting us in on some incredible stuff here. We all are from the Father, we all derive our names from him. He is the beginning and the end. He is the start of it all. Every family. Every person. Every son. Every daughter. All of us begin and end with him. Amazing.

Power in the Spirit. How often do you include the Spirit in your daily walk? We've talked about this before. Let’s do this. Include the Spirit in all of it. Let his Holy Spirit living in us be our guide. Be our counselor and our barometer of right and wrong and everything in between.

God is saying as we struggle with our own issues ....”I am with you”. In the midst of everything He is walking with us.  We keep fighting back saying “I’ve got this, I’ve got this”, but God is saying, “I’m with you, I love you. I’m walking with you and I’m seeing you through this”.  Rest in that today. Try letting go for a minute, for an hour, a day, a month. See how that feels.

Prayers up for all of us as we wrestle with our own selfishness. That we would acknowledge the beginning and end and all that is in between. That we would acknowledge the spirit in our lives and seek his wise counsel.

Prayers today for your strength. Prayers today that you would know how incredibly loved you are by the Father.

Worship with Music...

On the hardest days, leaning on God is sometimes all we can muster.

And that's perfectly okay.

Rest in that and know that God is all we need...

    Yes I pray for strength in the Lord every day.
    I am in a Relationship with Him,never would I give up on Him,He never gave up on me.
    He went to the Cross for me,thank you Jesus.
    And yes I agree we need to pray on our knees every day and to be honest,no I don’t do it,but I make a decision today to kneel in front of God every day.Amen, my declaration Lord.🙏🙏🙏

          Kneeling before our Lord every morning is a action of awareness that I’m willing to do his will today not mine it prepares me with strength an grace for our day ahead together it’s something I’m sure brings him joy as well but I have to be a willing participant it’s not a requirement it’s not a oh I have to do this it’s a privilege for me to bow before my creator.     Thank you Dave! Sometimes the only way I get through the day is by pondering on the scripture in your daily devotional and listening to your great music. It helps me to remember God is in control and I need to let go.

        Dave Pettigrew.. my name is Vanessa Ann Asmar. I’m going throwed so much I have court June 22nd 2020 . Cause my young son Dillin had me n my husband Tom n oldest son Damien put in jail all cause he wanted to be his alone payee. Which he is 27 but brain of 10 year old. And listen to everybody but me cursing at me like you cannot dreamed of .all we done was letting him not leaved house high as his was so high on pot and other drugs . Cause we stop him he jump out window on to fire escape and ladder didn’t go allway down so he jump went to his friends house that Bayonne NJ cop Eric atamao and told him we knock him out no we didn’t we e yes stop him from leaved the house and refused him to leave that how he went on to fire escape and fell and told his freind I knock him out was put in county jail for 5 day now it going to city court June 22nd to see if judge going to drop the charges or prostitutes or find . Or jail again . Just want to leave New Jersey Bayonne NJ started new life with my husband Tom and son Damien in new stated away from his lyes and trouble .

    Thank you so much for sharing Dave. I love hiking and I always feel His presence the very most when I’m out in nature. I connect so well with your devotions, your walks in nature, and your music.. absolutely a beautiful moment in my day. Today’s devotion and your reflections seemed to come to me just in the right moment. I’ve been struggling with anxiety since I was a child due to trauma. Lately it feels like I’m in the grips of it and like you said, I’m always trying to “handle it” on my own, push through… but this morning I leaned a little bit more into Him and tears flowed just knowing I can loosen the grip a little. Your song is beautiful and the words are so touching🙏🏼. I first found you on social media I believe and heard “Love is Here”.. wow that is still my favorite 🙌🏼! Have a beautiful Sunday.

    Beautiful song! As I was listening and reading through this devotional today, Proverbs 3:5 kept coming to mind. I pray for everyone that as we work hard to let go and know that God is with us through it all, we also develop a deeper trust in the Lord and not lean on our own understanding of our struggles, victories, our “I got this” moments, but that we loosen our grip because God’s got us. Acknowledge Him and His deep love for you today and give the reigns of life into the hands of our loving Father. Thank you Dave, for these encouraging, thought provoking devotionals.
