9.9.20 – Daily Dose of Worship. A study on the Holy Spirit. Part 60. Speak.

PRAYER: Pray today for your words. That the Spirit of God living in you would guide your speech.

DEVOTION:”No other manifestation of the body every glorifies the Lord except the tongue. If you seek to be free in the operation of the Spirit through the mouth, then the tongue, which may be under a kind of subconscious control by the Spirit, brings out the glory of the Lord, and that will always bring edification, consolation, and comfort.” (pg 85)

So, we’re back to words, to speech and to the tongue. We just finished our Worship Underground Bible Study and were looking into a devotion that I published a few weeks ago about the power of our words. We quoted from James where it says that the tongue is so hard to tame. Read James 3 for further insight into this.

But here, Smith brings it up again, but in a bit of a different light. I love the line here “subconscious control by the Spirit”.

Isn’t this where we want to be. Our tongues, our words, our speech, all that we say being used to edify and build up the people that we are speaking to? The idea that our subconscious mind is giving us the words to say, this is powerful. Our subconscious mind being controlled by the Spirit. Our mind, our having the mind of Christ because His Spirit in us. This is yet another reason for the further belief in the Spirit in us.

Today. Let the subconscious begin to flow in your mind. Let the Spirit gain control of all that you say. Speak life into others. Bring forth the ideas of Jesus into the conversations that you have. Into the reactions that you have. Into the words that you speak.

YES! That is where I want to be. I want to be so in tune with Jesus, the Holy Spirit , and with my Father then I don’t need to run to the Bible to find the scripture that applies… I want it to be in me. I want my will so aligned with God’s will that the majority of my mistakes are already corrected. I want to be so close with Jesus that all I do is say his name and i have instant peace. I don’t want to have to figure out these things I just want them to be in place. Jesus died for me…it shouldn’t be that complicated.

Once again, a devotion brings a song to mind, and the words come to my mind,” I’m finding myself at a loss for words, and the funny thing is it’s ok, The last thing I need is to be heard, but to hear what You would say, Word of God , speak, would You pour down like rain, washing my eyes to see Your majesty, To be still and know that Your in this place, please let me stay and rest , In Your Holiness ! Word of God speak ! by Mercy Me like so many songs, it becomes prayer as we sing and speak it. Amen ! So be it !

    Lord guide us
Ecclesiastes 3:7 A time to tear apart and a time to sew together; A time to be silent and a time to speak.

As we know unless it is by you it will be meaningless.

Proverbs 25:11 Like apples of gold in settings of silver.
Is a word spoken in right circumstances.

Help me tp speak this Lord.
