9.7.20 – Daily Dose of Worship. A study on the Holy Spirit. Part 58. Freedom.

PRAYER: Thank God today for the freedom that His Spirit in you brings to you each and every day.

DEVOTION: “Liberty is beautiful when we never use it to satisfy ourselves but use it in the Lord. We must never transgress because of liberty. What I mean is this: it would be wrong for me to take opportunities just because the Spirit of the Lord is upon me. But it would be perfectly justifiable if I clearly allow the Spirit of the Lord to have His liberty with me. However, we are not to behave inappropriately in our liberty, for the flesh is more extravagant than the Spirit.” (pg 84)

This passage reminded me of this passage.

“What then? Shall we sin because we are not under the law but under grace? By no means! Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey—whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness? But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you have come to obey from your heart the pattern of teaching that has now claimed your allegiance. You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.” – Romans 6:15-18

The Spirit in us gives us liberty, freedom. But not freedom that we should take advantage of. The Spirit in us gives us freedom so that we can use it for the good of God. Use it to be drawn closer to Him.

Re-read these passages. Let the freedom of the Lord, the freedom of the Spirit fill you today but let it fill you with thoughts, ideas, hope, dreams that do nothing but draw you closer to Him.

I praise God for the ability, by His Spirit to worship ! The Name above all names , Jesus it begins with thanksgiving and praise, and then we are drawn into the very Presence of Jesus, the Almighty God ! The One who died to give us this freedom, we enjoy in His Holy Spirit The living Word of God brings freedom, , as Heb 4:12 tells us , The word of God is living, and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, a discern-er of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Emmanuel, alive and living in us ……….so much here………continued prayers for all !
