9.6.20 – Daily Dose of Worship. A study on the Holy Spirit. Part 57. New.

PRAYER: Pray today for focus. For clarity. Pray today for the newness that Jesus brings to us every day through His Spirit.

DEVOTION: “Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” – 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

Smith quotes this verse and then goes on to say this, “I believe the Lord has in His mind the further freedom of life. Nothing will please the Lord so much as for us to come into the fullness of redemption, because I believe that “The Lord is the Spirit and where the Spirit of the Lord is there is freedom, there is liberty.” (2 Cor. 3:17) (pg 84)

So, here we are again speaking about freedom in the Spirit and here we are again getting caught up in the day to day that bogs us down and pulls us back down into the mire. Into the pit.

We continue to let the world influence so much of our daily walk, where God is calling us to let that part go and let Him in. Let His Spirit bring us freedom.

Freedom from what?

Distractions, anxiety, fear, uncertainty, greed, lust, addictions, selfishness, pride….the list goes on. Please, take a minute and fill in the blank with what you are struggling with today….maybe it’s jealously. Maybe it’s frustration. I don’t know where you’re at with this but…Jesus….freedom is here.

Because, as it states in the passage from 2 Corinthians, we are outwardly wasting away but…inwardly….freedom. We are being renewed into freedom. Renewed daily. God is continuing to give us clarity, focus, strength, peace…..realize that today.

Troubles? Of course. But…where do we fix our eyes. On Jesus. Not on all that is seen around us. The walls fall, the walls crumble. We look to Jesus.

We look to Jesus.

Today. Look up. Let the world fade around you as you are renewed daily by the Lord of Lords who loves you so very very much.

Today. Be made new.
