9.30.20 – Daily Dose of Worship. A study on the Holy Spirit. Part 81. Prepare.

DEVOTION: ” I can see as clearly as anything that Saul, in his mad pursuit, had to be stopped along the way. After he was stopped and had the vision from heaven and the light from heaven, he instantly realized that he had been working in the wrong way. And as soon as the power of the Holy Spirit fell upon him, he began in the way in which God wanted him to go. And it was wonderful how he had to suffer to come into the way. (See Acts 9:15-16.). A broken spirit, a tried life, and being driven into a corner as if some strange thing had happened (1 Peter 4:12) – these are surely the ways in which we get to know the way of God.” (pg 123)

So. I love this passage. It’s very real and very relatable.

A broken spirit.

A tried life.

Being driven into a corner.

Any of that sound familiar? Do you have trials in life? Do you get backed into the corner sometimes? Do you feel as though you’re the only one who feels the way that you feel?

I know I do. I know that I get caught up in all of it and can’t seem to see God in any of it sometimes.

So. What do we do in these moments? We seek God. Truly seek God in the midst of the trials and the storms. At least that’s that I do. Do you?

Do you seek Him only in the storm? Or….do you seek Him daily to prepare for the storm before it comes? You see, this Spirit in us, this Spirit prepares our hearts and our minds for what’s to come because it knows what’s to come. It knows what we need, when we need it and how we need it.

Chalk up yet another reason to embrace and hold the Holy Spirit close to our hearts and closer to our souls.

Today. Are you prepared?

PRAYER: Pray for your relationship with God. Pray that you would prepared for what’s to come and that your relationship with Him would equip you and prepare you for the storms….

I have to leave my house for a week so I am bringing about 20 pages of sculpture that I googled and printed that pertain to things I am dealing with. I find comfort in knowing there is no problem bigger than God’s word. I hope to gain some perspective, wisdom, and peace.
