9.27.20 – Daily Dose of Worship. A study on the Holy Spirit. Part 78. Empty?

DEVOTION: “God wants you to be filled. God wants you today to be a watered garden, filled with the fragrance of His own heavenly joy, until you know at last that you have touched immensity. The Son of God came for no other purpose than to lift and mold and fashion and remold us until we become conformed to His own mind.” (pg 113)

Filled.

How empty do you feel today? How empty is your soul? Your heart? Do you ever need to be filled? We all do. We all have days where we just want to say, “stop the world and let me off”. Yet, as we spoke about yesterday, we need to find time to spend with God.

We spoke last week about rivers of living water. These rivers that God provides in us and through us are not just so that we can give that living water to others but also so that we ourselves can be nourished. So that we can be revived and given life to.

When we spend time with God we are renewed. We are given strength and hope. We are given purpose.

Jesus came to lift, mold, fashion and remold us so that we can be conformed to His mind. When we have His mind, His thoughts, His purposes and intentions, things tend to change….our priorities shift.

Today. Are you empty? Maybe. Need a touch of God in your life? Definitely. Take the time to stop, listen. Be filled today with the hope that Jesus provides. Be filled today with the love that Jesus has for you. A love like no other.

Take the time today to just stop. Let the Father give you life.

PRAYER: God, today. Breathe life into these dry bones.

Amen !! This scripture is speaking to me this morning, Romans 15:13 “I pray that God , the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in Him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.” Blessings to all, and continued prayers !

This has me thinking of when you come this way. You always fill our tank with the spirit of God and have us planning for next time. You leave us wanting more. The joy that comes from that and the lives you touch all around you. You bring joy and the holy spirit moves. You revive us up here in the north country and we are grateful. Praying today God renews you as you renew others. May God Bless you and your family greatly.

Thank you for this reminder, Dave!
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

I LOVE that God gives us the algorithm to prepare, and even after preparedness, we, again, get promise of deliverance from evil!

We are but a piece of clay that God is molding, shaping, trimming, watering and finally putting through the fire to be hardened in him.
