9.26.20 – Daily Dose of Worship. A study on the Holy Spirit. Part 77. God.

DEVOTION: “Some people come to God with only a very small idea of His fullness, and a lot of people are satisfied with just a thimbleful. You can just imagine God saying, “Oh, if they only knew how much they could receive!” Other people come with a larger vessel and they go away satisfied. But you can feel how much God is longing for us to have such a desire for more, such a longing as only He Himself can satisfy.” (pg 113)

So. Where are you? Are you leaning on the side of a thimbleful or are you leaning on the side of a much larger vessel?

It’s a good question to ask. To take a step back and take a look at the God in your life. To take a look at the way that you experience God in your life. Questions to ask:

How much do I lean on Jesus?

What’s my prayer life look like?

Do I involve God in every aspect of every day?

I spoke a week or so ago on the livestream about my prayer life. About how I just wasn’t happy with how it was working in my life. So I decided to get a prayer bowl to add to my nightstand. This prayer bowl allows me to wake up, see the prayers that need praying and act. It’s changed the way that I thing about God in the morning and in the evening.

We have these prayer bowls available here if you’re interested in picking one up: https://buydpstuff.com/products/there-is-hope-prayer-bowl-backstage-collection-limited-edition?_pos=1&_sid=ea7fae7ba&_ss=r

It takes action on your part to get more God in your life.

Take a minute today and think about it. Think about how much God is in your life and make some changes…

He’s waiting for you.

PRAYER: God, today. Draw us closer and closer to the goodness and fullness that you have for us in our lives.

I try to make it a point to text my girls every day, when I’m away, that I love them and am very proud of them. I don’t expect a text back, but it is my way of reminding them that I, as their dad, loves them no matter what day it is. God does that for me and sometimes I forget to thank him back. I’m a work in progress. I am eternally greatful for a God that loves me unconditionally. Wow. I revel in that.
