9.23.20 – Daily Dose of Worship. A study on the Holy Spirit. Part 74. Wind.

DEVOTION: “This is what God has declared: freedom from the law. “If we love the world, the love of the Father is not in us.” “For all that is in the world; the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life; is not of the father but of the world.” 1 John 2:16. The Spirit has to breathe into us a new occupancy, a new order. he came to give the vision of a life in which Jesus is perfected in us. God has saved us and called us with a holy calling, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began.” (Pg 108)

“Rushing wind, blow through this temple, blowing out the dust within.”

Ever been in a hurricane? A windstorm? It’s powerful. It can blow us right over without even a glimpse of looking back. Some hurricanes can blow houses off of their foundations. Some lift up cars like they are toothpicks. The wind of the Holy Spirit dwarfs all of that. It’s a wind that blows through our hearts, minds and souls. But…our human desires and thoughts can stop it’s force. We need to make ourselves open to the wind. Open to the cleansing. Open to the newness.

Are you? Are you open to the new? Or….are you so stuck in your habits that you just can’t let go?

Today. Welcome to the new. Welcome to the very clean hallways and alleyways of our heart and soul.

Let the Spirit blow through you like a rushing wind. Give access where access hasn’t been before. Let hope fill you where it hasn’t been before.

Today. Let the winds blow.

PRAYER: Pray today for the wind to blow in your life. Pray that God would invade your heart, mind, body and soul. That His wind would blow out the old and bring in the new.

Hallways and alleyways…I like that. They are just a means to get us where we need to go, do we even notice them? God notices, he doesn’t wait for us to arrive. He is in the hallways, he is on the journey. Nothing is too big or too small to give to God.

Absorb the godly wind and brush away the worldly wind. God will be with you every moment; good or bad. Breathe in his goodness and share it with the lost around you. God speaks and we should listen. Cleanse yourself of the bad wind and fill your lungs with His wind.
