8.9.20 – Daily Dose of Worship. A study on the Holy Spirit. Part 29. Wake up!

PRAYER: Pray for your words today. Prayers that they would speak life to someone.

DEVOTION: So….get ready for this.

“If you wish to be anything for God, do not miss His plan. God has no room for you on ordinary lines. You must realize that within you there is power of the Holy Spirit, who is forming within you everything you require. I believe we have too much preaching and too little testifying….so remember, you must awake out of your lethargy.” (pg 41 & 42)

That’s basically what Smith is saying here. I think if he were in front of us, he’d be sure to let us know that we need to move. To react. To get involved in other people’s lives and in our communities so that we can be the love. So that we can be the love of Jesus.

How often are you just sitting on the couch, waiting for something to happen? How often do you wait to see the outcome as opposed to making the outcome happen? How often do you say that….hmmm….maybe someone else will take care of that?

So…today, maybe it’s time to move. Time to be pro-active. Time to stop just preaching about it and actually put it into action. Maybe it’s time to snap out of the lethargic state that we are in and take action. Be the love.

Uncomfortable yet? Maybe. Ready to cancel your membership?

Let’s be a community that takes action. Let’s be a community that changes live, changes hearts and is a beautiful and immersive reflection of Jesus in our lives and to the lives of others.

Yes, and Amen ! Isaiah spoke this admonition to us as well: Isaiah 52: 1,2 “Awake, Awake ! Put on your strength O Zion……shake the dust , arise !
and Isaiah 51 :16 And I have put My words in your mouth: I have covered you with the shadow of My Hand …………/continued prayers for all and thanking the Lord for each and every person He is bringing into our world today.

The world says ‘the truth hurts ‘. God says

“For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death.” 2 Corinthians 7:10

The Holy Spirit will get our attention…
    sometimes it is uncomfortable but

“For God works all things together for good those who love him and are called according to his purpose” Romans 8:28
