8.7.20 – Daily Dose of Worship. A study on the Holy Spirit. Part 27. Imitation.

reflection on water

PRAYER: Please pray today for our MNW community. Pray that God would allow us all to grow deeper in our relationship with Jesus.

DEVOTION: “I believe that love will have to come into our lives. Christ must be the summit, the desire, the plan of all things. All our sayings, doings, and workings must be well pleasing in and to Him, and then our prophetic utterances will be a blessing through God. They will never be side issues. There is no imitation in a man filled with the Holy Spirit. Imitation is lost as the great plan of Christ becomes the ideal of life.” (pg 41)

OK. I wanted to keep going and we will but I have to stop right here and just take a minute to digest that last sentence. If that doesn’t wrap up the song “Me” that I wrote in one sentence, I don’t know what does. Let me repeat it here.

Imitation is lost as the great plan of Christ becomes the ideal of life.

What an incredibly powerful quote. Imitation is lost to us, our desire to imitate anything else is lost, when Christ becomes the focal point of our lives. The imitation of this world, what’s in this world and what is required of this world is lost…because….Jesus. Our goal and our one desire should be Him. Then our need and desire for imitation of something else…just drifts away…so that we can be the me that He made us to be….incredible.

God wants you to be so balanced in spiritual anointing that you will always be able to do what pleases Him, and not what will please other people or yourself. The ideal must be that it will all be to edification, and everything must go on to this end to please the Lord. (pg 41)

I’m not sure where I can go from there. Read that last paragraph again.

To be balanced in spiritual anointing. That is one goal to shoot for. To be balanced in what Jesus has to bring into our lives. To be so wrapped up in all that He has for us that we are always doing what pleases Him. We are always the reflection of Him. We are always being the love of Jesus.

So often a song jumps into my head, Rich Mullins song,, “My One Thing” does that with this reading. I think my brain is wired for song, and I was listening to his Songs album yesterday………..a few words from the song………save me from those things that might distract me, please take them away and purify my heart, I don’t want to lose the eternal for the passing…………Your my one thing, one thing and the pure in heart shall see God…………….and so much more. And this song takes me to one of my favorite psalms , Ps 27: 4 ONE THING I have desired of the Lord , That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord All the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in His temple………..Oh Lord, take me back to my first love…………only JESUS ! Continued prayers for all in our MNW community and all in recovery……Ps 107: 20 ” He sent His Word and healed them………….. blessings for the day!

    beautiful picture

there are nights when the worship is just so good…or a line up of songs on my playlist that I just lose myself….ahhh…you know that feeling? God probably wants us to lose ourselves and always feel that way. I bet He would pour out an anointing so thick that w could see it if only we just ask and expect.
