8.6.20 – Daily Dose of Worship. A study on the Holy Spirit. Part 26. Love defined.

PRAYER: Please continue to pray for those struggling with addictions.

DEVOTION: The primary thought in the mind of the Spirit is that when love is in perfect progress, all other things will work in harmony, for prophetic utterances are all of no value unless they are perfectly covered with divine love. Our Lord Jesus would never have accomplished His great plan in this world except that He was so full of love for the Father, and love for us, that love never failed to accomplish it’s purpose. (pg 40)

An amazing last sentence. You see, I don’t think we give love enough credit. Unfortunately our world loves to dwell on the bad, the destructive and the problematic. If you watch any news program, they will talk about the bad for a good 28 minutes and then maybe end with a 1 minute segment on something good. It should be the other way around. We should dwell on the love, the acts of love and the hope that love brings into our lives and the lives of those that we come in contact with.

Again, this love that Jesus was filled with, this love for His Father. It was the driving force in His ministry, in His life and in His decisions. The decision to die for you and me, it was grounded in love. The decision to come to this earth, to spend time with us and teach us. That was all driven by love.

Think on your actions. How are they driven? Are they driven with the love of Jesus in mind? Are they driven by our desire to see Him lifted high in all things?

My answer….not really. Sometimes, not all the time. I need to get better at this. Better at really focusing on what He would have me do as opposed to what I would have me do. Jesus first. Everything else second.

Pray today that God would re-inspire and re-fill your life with His love. His hope. That His Spirit living inside you would fill you with the love of the Father.

bearing with one another with love…. Ephesians 4:2

” How contrary it is to the hardness of man’s heart, contrary to the evil powers, contrary to the natural mind. It is God’s love toward you that gives you tender, compassionate love toward one another.”

…in divine love you will act exactly as Jesus…’as he is, so are we in this world 1 John 4:17″

Taken from Jonathan Cain’s The Book of Mysteries
Day 219 (Julian date for Aug 6) From the Days of Forever

“Do you ever wonder about God’s love”?
the lovingkindness of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting the Lord’s love is with those who fear him . Khesed the Hebrew word for lovingkindness also speaks of faithful love, a love that never let’s go.

Cain goes on o explain that God’s faithful love is from forever to forever…that he has already loved us for an eternity before we even existed so we can count on it

ok, seriously…I read that and thought of Facebook Math…you know….where the sneaker, the man, and the weights all have a numerical value and you have to solve the end equation but you have to look closely at the picture….everyone guesses wrong….kaboom, my head has exploded

What Cain is saying that God has already loved me for an eternity before I even existed and he will continue to love me for an eternity so nothing I do will change that. Again…kaboom

I have learned that yielding to the spirit makes it easier to accept the unexplained. Yesterday I didn’t understand but today I just do…..as if it was downloaded into my heart.
