8.30.20 – Daily Dose of Worship. A study on the Holy Spirit. Part 50. More fire.

PRAYER: Please pray today for healing in our nation. An end to the pandemic and for mercy to be shown to our land.

DEVOTION: “The man who is baptized in the Holy Spirit is baptized into a new order altogether. You cannot every be ordinary after that. You are on the extraordinary plane; you are brought into line with the mind of God. You have come in touch with ideas in every way.” (pg 73)

Ordinary. With no special or distinctive features. Normal.

When we have the mind of Christ. The Spirit of Christ in us. We are anything but normal. So why do we act as normal as we do? Why do we settle for anything less than the extraordinary? The beyond? The next?

The world we live in tears apart our dreams and desires by getting us stuck in the mundane and the day to day. I know, some of the mundane and the day to day tasks are necessary but God has so much more in store for us if we exercise our faith muscles. If we let our faith begin to release the extraordinary in us. If we let the Spirit in us bring newness. Bring new life.

As we continue to march on through this study, one thing continues to rise up in these conversations. We are extraordinary beings. We, partnered with the Spirit, have power, strength, hope…..fire in us.

Yet…..

We don’t live like it.

Why?

Fear. Uncertainty. Discomfort.

Yes, those are a few reasons for sure. But…it goes deeper than that. Our faith needs to be exercised. Our purity which leads to faith which ushers in truth needs to be exercised more and more. That faith then sets us on fire to spread more and more of Jesus in more and more places in our lives.

Yet. We’re smoldering.

Today. One word. Fire.

The same Power that raised Jesus from the grave lives inside of us. Dwell on that on then imagine what is possible for each of us to accomplish.

Jeremiah 20:9 9But if I say, “I will not mention his word or speak anymore in his name,” his word is in my heart like a fire, a fire shut up in my bones. I am weary of holding it in; indeed, I cannot.

For we have a fire in our soul.. Isn’t there a song about that?

Be the light of Jesus. Share that light with others struggling. God will point the way if your light dims. Realign yourself and brighten your light and others will want to know that light. Share and unite. Amen
