8.3.20 – Daily Dose of Worship. A study on the Holy Spirit. Part 24. Believe.

PRAYER: Please pray for a member of our community tonight. For help in decision and clarity in those decisions.

DEVOTION: We need to believe. More than believe, we need to believe whole heartedly in all that can happen and will happen as the Spirit lives in us.

Some things are of necessity. Suppose that all around me are people with needs. Here they are. I see the great need, I drop down on my knees and cry. Yet in doing so, I miss it all. God does not want me to cry. God does not want me to labor. God does not want me to anguish and to be filled with anxiety and a sorrowful Spirit. What does He want me to do?

Only believe. After you have received, only believe. Come to the authority of it; dare to believe. Say, “I will do it!”

So the baptism of the Holy Spirit says to me, “You have an anointing.” The anointing has come; the anointing remains; the anointing is with us. But, what if you have not lived in the place in which the unction, the anointing can be increased? Ah! Then the Spirit is grieved; then you are not moved. You are like the one who is dead. You feel that all the joy has gone.

Many people lose all potential positions of attainment because they fail to understand this: “But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you, but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him.” – 1 John 2:27

Did you catch that. The same anointing is in us as was in Jesus, put there by God. What an absolutely incredible statement!

Now, the trick here is to believe it. Actually believe it. Believe that in us is the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead, the same Spirit that He walked this Earth with. I know. A lot to take in. That’s why we’re taking this slowly. Taking just small bites out of the concept of this incredible Spirit living in us.

Wow. Believe today. Believe in it all and see how life changes.

God, help our unbelief.

Amen !! !!!! Chapter 14 of John may be one of my most favorite chapters of the gospels. Jesus says to us, ” Let not your heart be troubled , you believe in God , believe also in ME “!!!! And then He tells us , ” in my Fathers house are many mansions. if it were not so , I would have told you. . I go to prepare a place for you. and in verse 3, And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to myself, that where I am , there you may be also.” And in verse 6………..” I am the way, the truth, and the life , no man come to the Father, but by me………HOPE, HOPE in JESUS………….no matter what !
    Continued prayers for all !

This is from a bible commentary on Romans written by Jimmy Swaggart.
The believer must understand that the Holy Spirit works entirely within the framework of the Cross of Christ. In other words, it’s what Jesus did at the Cross that gives the Holy Spirit the legal means to do all that He does for us. He doesn’t require much of us, but He does require one thing, and that is that our faith be perpetually in Christ and the Cross, and maintained in Christ and the Cross. Then He can work.
