8.29.20 – Daily Dose of Worship. A study on the Holy Spirit. Part 49. Fire.

PRAYER: Please pray today for all the things listed in yesterdays devotion. Life, revelation, hope, truth. Pray that the Spirit would fill you with these today.

DEVOTION: “The Spirit is an unlimited source of power. He is in no way stationary. Nothing in God is stationary. God has no place for a person who is stationary. The man who is going to catch the fire, hold forth the truth, and always be on the watchtower, is the one who is going to be a beacon for all saints, having a light greater than he would have naturally. He must see that God’s grace, God’s life, and God’s Spirit are a million times mightier than he.” (pg 73)

Feeling a little down today? Feeling a little pitiful or down on your luck? Well. Let’s catch fire as Smith says here. I love that saying, that phrase. Let’s catch fire. When something catches fire it spreads quickly, it sometimes becomes overwhelming and unable to extinguish.

That’s the Spirit of God in us. We need to catch the fire of the Spirit so that we can then let it burn and burn and burn in our lives. Then this beacon burns so bright in us that there is NO way that others can’t see it burning in us.

Our light naturally is just that, a light. Our light with the Spirit of God moving in and through and around us is an un-extinguishable flame that can never be put out. A light and a flame that is seen everywhere we go.

This light can only be stoked by a daily relationship and walk with God. With His Spirit in us. Recognition that it is He who fuels the fire and without Him, our light is smothered.

Today. Fuel the fire.

Are you on fire for God? Let the Holy spirit light your endless fire. Fill your fuel tank with the good word. Be the light for others and help guide the way toward God.
