“When Jesus had finished giving instructions to His twelve disciples, He went on from there to teach and preach in their cities.” – Matthew 11:1
OK. Now we’re moving into the next section of the book of Matthew.
This immediately follows Jesus’ instructions to His apostles before sending them into Galilee (Matthew 10:5–8). There, they were to preach His message and perform His miracles under the authority He had given to them. They were sent in pairs, separately from the others and without Jesus. Christ’s intent was not to give Himself time off. Rather, He sent them out to multiply the number of workers in the harvest (Matthew 9:37–38). As the Twelve (Matthew 10:1–4) set out on their journey, Jesus heads into Galilee, as well, to continue His own ministry of preaching and healing.
So…Jesus gives instructions and then everyone is sent out to preach and teach…
Kind of sounds like what’s happening here in the midst of our Bible studies….
