8.10.20 – Daily Dose of Worship. A study on the Holy Spirit. Part 30. Right & Wrong.

PRAYER: Please pray for the students and staff at all of our education facilities during these times.

DEVOTION: “Hear what the scripture says to us: “However, when He, the Spirit of Truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak.” – John 16:13. The Holy Spirit is inspiration; the Holy Spirit if revelation; the Holy Spirit is manifestation; the Holy Spirit is operation. When a man comes into the fullness of the Holy Spirit, he is in perfect order, built on scriptural foundations.” (pg 42)

I was speaking on this just the other day in another devotion about our knowing wrong from right, about our need to lean to the right and away from the wrong. How do we know this? It’s built into our DNA. How is this enforced and expanded on? When we let Jesus into the ins and outs of our life, His Spirit resides in us. His Spirit deepens our understanding of wrong and right. Deepens our desire for right. Deepens our desires to let go of the wrong, turn away from the wrong.

Smith brings this idea of words up again through this verse from John. The Spirit guides us in truth BUT also guides our words. What we speak will be of our our authority but whatever we hear, we’ll speak. So, that leads me to believe that as we hear the Spirit whispering to us, we begin to whisper those words in our own conversations and ideas. Then as we get more comfortable, our words become more bold and more confident. Our speech once again defines our relationship with the Spirit. As we are filled with the Spirit our speech is filled with the ideas of the Spirit.

Think on that…..

How will you begin to put this into practice? Why, the only way we can. Develop and deepen your relationship with the Holy Spirit in your life.

May we each be able to silence our busy hearts and heads in order to hear what He has for us. May be heed his words and answer him “Yes Lord what do you need me to do”. I pray for all of us in any situation we’re facing. Amen
