7.7.20 – Daily Dose of Worship. 1 John 5:17-18. Held.

PRAYER: Please pray for the 12 kids that we sponsor. That God would continue to provide.

DEVOTION: “All wicked actions are sin, but not every sin leads to death. We know that God’s children do not make a practice of sinning, for God’s Son holds them securely, and the evil one cannot touch them.” – ‭‭1 John‬ ‭5:17-18‬

The one small phrase I want to point out here is this one:

God’s Son holds them securely.

Do you feel that way? Do you feel as though Jesus is holding you securely, in his arms, never letting go?

Sometimes, especially these times, it’s hard to accept and acknowledge this. We feel alone, uncertain, scared and lacking direction….

But….Jesus.

“Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lordyour God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:31

Here. With us. Holding us securely.

Jesus, today, is holding you securely. Today. Be held.

The security I have in Christ comforts me every moment, of everyday.

I know God has me wrapped in his loving arms. I know that I must listen to him everyday and heed his commands. For I am but a sheep in his flock, but I am also his disciple and I must pass on his good words. He fills me and maketh me to share unto others. Amen.

Greater is he that is in me than he that is in the world.
