7.30.20 – Daily Dose of Worship. A study on the Holy Spirit. Part 20. Surrender.

PRAYER: Please pray for Patti today. She’s working through some financial and emotional struggles today.

DEVOTION: “When God begins dealing with you on the baptism, He begins on this line: He starts with the things that are the most difficult, He starts with your fear, He starts with your human nature. He puts the fear away, He gets the human nature out of the way. And just as you dissolve, just as the power of the Spirit brings a dissolving to your human nature, in the same act the Holy Spirit flows into the place where you are being dissolved, and you are quickened just where you come into death. As you die, naturally, humanly, carnally, selfishly to every evil thing, the new life, the Holy Spirit, floods the whole condition until it becomes a transformed condition.”

Wow. What an incredible paragraph. Let’s start by backing that up with scripture.

“So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” – 2 Corinthians 5:16-17

This new creation. This new being that we become relies heavily on our acceptance of the Holy Spirit in our lives. A grounding of sorts. The desire to be changed from the inside out by the Spirit of God inside of us once we turn our lives over to an unconditional surrender to Jesus. We die naturally, carnally, selfishly to every evil thing.

Our hearts are changed.
Our minds are changed.
Our desires are changed.
Our intentions are changed.
Our speech is changed.

The list goes on. When we allow this transformation to happen, Jesus changes us. Makes us new. Makes us reborn.

Today. Take the time to consider the Spirit of God living in you. Take the time to let that Spirit work on your heart, mind, body and soul. Being a reflection of Jesus begins with this change. This surrender.

Let’s surrender today.

Surrender….such a difficult thing for me to do on a continual basis! It’s seems I have this continual cycle of surrender and resistance! Even though I don’t want to resist…
