7.27.20 – Daily Dose of Worship. A study on the Holy Spirit. Part 17. Breath.

PRAYER: Pray today that God would release your inner disciple in you.

DEVOTION: Yesterday we were speaking about the disciples, a little bit about who there were and how God equipped them with the Spirit to do amazing things.

Today, let’s dig a little more into that.

“Jesus knew that He was going away and that, if He went away, it was expedient, it was necessary, it was important that Another come in His place and take up the same thing in them as He had been telling them. John 14:20 “You in Me, and I in you.” There was a plan, a divine order. So the Holy Spirit was to come.”

And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. – John 14:16 – 18

The word “comforter” is just so….comforting isn’t it? We all need comforting. The disciples needing comforting and we here today, as I’m sure you all will agree, need comforting.

This comforting is something that is a necessity in the life of a Christian. For the Spirit is breath, is life, is person, is power. He gives breath of Himself to us, the nature of Him. How beautiful is that, when the Spirit came, He should be called the Spirit of Truth. Oh if we would only read that into our hearts.

That last paragraph by Smith is just beautiful. The Spirit is life, breath, person, power. How often do we need that in our lives? Me answering truthfully…..every day. You answering truthfully….I’m hoping the same answer.

This breath of life is here. This breath of life is in us. Around us. Living through us and is available to us. We are given the Spirit so that we might have life.

Let that life fill you today.

Amen.

Jesus was able to do great things not because he was God but because he was so filled with God…he said if you see me you see the Father…now he is telling us that we too can be so filled with him…you in me, I in you…the Holy Spirit..the comforter, teacher, translator, guide…all that is needed is in the spirit…wow…to have every need met, I don’t know if I really understand that, it so infinite…amazing ..I wan to breathe in heaven with every breath

Breathe in his grace. Let him fill you to overflow. Pour out unto others what you have been given. In his Holy name. Amen
