7.24.20 – Daily Dose of Worship. A study on the Holy Spirit. Part 14. Extraordinary.

PRAYER: Please pray today for all of the members in our Join Dave’s Band community. You each are so incredible. Thanks for being a part of this.

DEVOTION: Today’s devotion comes from a section in the Smith Wiggles worth “On the Holy Spirit” book entitled “Be Extraordinary”.

“Make up your mind that you won’t be ordinary. You have an extraordinary God who gives revelation. Be determined that you won’t go away as you came but that you will go away endued, infused with the living touch of the flame of the Master’s torch.”

Pretty amazing paragraph. I had to look up the word endued. It’s a verb meaning to provide with a quality or ability. So each time we come in contact with God through prayer, worship, church etc, we are endued with a quality. What’s that quality you ask? I could define it as inspiration, revelation, creativity….the list goes on and on.

He ends this paragraph by talking about being touched by the flame of the Master’s torch. I have often heard the Holy Spirit called “fire”. We sing a song called “Fire Fall Down” sometimes. We sing “fire fall down on us we pray”. The idea is to call on God to touch us, fill us with His fire. Let His fire burn in our lives.

Smith goes on to talk about the meetings with God, our prayer life. These are not ordinary meetings; God would not want a meeting to be ordinary. I refuse to be an ordinary man. Why? Because I have an extraordinary God who make extraordinary people, and because we either believe God’s plan or we do not.

This is just speaking life into each and every one of us. So many of us feel like we’re not good enough, we don’t have enough strength, we don’t have enough passion…fill in the next sentence with your own insecurities. God tells us that we are extraordinary. Believe that today. As my grandmother used to say “God don’t make no junk.”

So today. Pray for fire to fall down on your extraordinary life. Pray for the extraordinary to be exposed. Pray for the extraordinary to be present. Pray that you would have the courage to expect and release the extraordinary in your own life.

It’s here, waiting for you to unleash it.
