7.17.20 – Daily Dose of Worship. A study on the Holy Spirit. Part 6. Cooperate.

PRAYER: Pray today for your heart. That God would clean it out. Maybe pray the verse Psalm 51:10, “Create in me a clean heart.”

DEVOTION: As we were discussing yesterday, there’s this notion of purity leading to faith.

Smith goes on to say this: Fellowship, unity, purity: these things reflect a living cooperation in which we are being changed from faith to faith, may the Lord grant you this today.

So let’s just stop there for one minute. This phrase a living cooperation hit me pretty squarely in the face as I’m writing this.

As I mentioned the other day, I responded to over 70 emails with prayer requests. Now, those requests and those prayers were all very legit and very heart felt requests and concerns. But…I’ve met so many people that are praying and praying and praying and not being pro-active about their prayers.

This phrase, to be a living cooperation, is incredibly clear. This partnership that we have with God is not a one way street where we just request that God change things and then it magically happens. It’s a partnership. It’s a living cooperation between both parties.

God wants to see change. We want to see change. Be the change together.

Sometimes we just need to hear it plainly stated, so I will plainly state it. We need to move. We need to engage. We cannot just sit back and wait for it to happen. Sometimes we are the answer to our own prayer. Our motivation and our desire to see change makes the change.

Please don’t wait for God to open the doors. You have to make them open as well and He will be in the process, believe me, but we need to institute and be pro-active about the change.

Today. Realize that your relationship with God is a living cooperation. Cooperate today.

    Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

    I am comforted by that verse…God’s got this…but the chapter goes on to say

    12 Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. 13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you, says the Lord, and I will bring you back from your captivity;

    You will find me when you seek me….that’s a request for a relationship. I want more…

    ” Be the change.”………………….is what I hear ! In order to make that a reality, every day, I need that other B word….believe !!!!!!!! Believe every single word God speaks to us , in His word ! Then act on that truth, not my truth, God’s truth ! Only then, can I be the “me” He made me to be !

    Yes, I call it “living faith” … not living in faith … but the two words together as an action verb!

    We have to be willing to give up ourselves and accept God. He is the way and the truth.
