6.3.20 – Daily Dose of Worship. 1 John 3:11-12. Love.

PRAYER: Please continue to pray for our nation. Pray for God’s mercy on us and healing in our land.

DEVOTION: “This is the message you have heard from the beginning: We should love one another. We must not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and killed his brother. And why did he kill him? Because Cain had been doing what was evil, and his brother had been doing what was righteous.” – ‭‭1 John‬ ‭3:11-12‬

This is the message for each and every one of us. For our nation. For our families. For our churches. For our prisons. For our employers and employees. Love one another. There is no greater commandment. Love your enemies.

This goes straight back to the heart of God. His heart is love. His heart is to spread love throughout the nations. Throughout our communities.

Today. Find a way, simple or enormous, to spread love. Find a way to be the love of Jesus.

Father, today, we turn to you. There is nothing else that we can do but follow the example that you have given. Let our live be contagious as your love is contagious. Let our love be genuine as your love is genuine. Let our love be effective. Let our hearts not seek anything else but you.

Let this be our prayer today. Amen.

This is so timely for now. I am always amazed about the timeliness of the Bible! Praying that love will prevail over the hate and anger in our land.
