5.6.20 – Daily Dose of Worship. 1 John 2:1. Plead my case?

PRAYER: Please pray for another woman who recently wrote to me about losing her son to an overdose. Pray for peace in her life.

DEVOTION: “My dear children, I am writing this to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous.” – ‭‭1 John‬ ‭2:1‬

Can this even be real? This verse. Incredible. That Jesus pleads our case before the Father. Really? How is that even possible? But…it is.

Pleading our case. Acting on our behalf. This leaves me speechless.

Jesus. How do we thank you? We mess up, fall down, disobey and who knows what else. Yet, you are here, pleading our case.

Go read that verse again. Believe it.

Jesus. Thank you for your love and mercy.

God is our saviour, father and judge. He is in the pilot seat. Trust in him and he will guide your steps. Lord God let is never forget the sacrifice your son paid for us. We are weak minded and are swayed by worldly things. May we see that your way is the best way. Let us rest in your arms and know that you have us in your arms. I put my trust fully in you this and every day. Amen.

I don’t think I will ever truly understand God’s grace and mercy but I am forever thankful!

We want to please the Father, the Spirit in us draws closer to God bringing us into obedience. Still, we are human, we fail. Jesus, there He is, saying this is why I died for them, this was my purpose.
