5.26.20 – Daily Dose of Worship. 1 John 2:27. The Spirit.

PRAYER: Please pray for Brazil. The news there is devastating.

DEVOTION: “But you have received the Holy Spirit, and he lives within you, so you don’t need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit teaches you everything you need to know, and what he teaches is true—it is not a lie. So just as he has taught you, remain in fellowship with Christ.” – ‭‭1 John‬ ‭2:27

The Spirit. Jesus left us this incredible tool that we sometimes rarely utilize.

I’m guilty of this myself, how often do I engage the Holy Spirit? How often do I seek guidance and wisdom? Not enough.

Starting today, let’s engage with the Spirit within us. This Spirit teaches and guides, leads and shows us. We just need to engage and ask.

There are so many books written on our relationship with the Spirit. Time to find one.

If you have a recommendation, please list it in the comments.

For now, John urges us to remain in fellowship with Jesus. The Spirit has taught us that. Let’s listen. Let’s engage and let’s be changed by a relationship with the Spirit of God inside us.

I have a Fire Bible, designed to bring the reader to experience the fullness of the Holy Spirit living inside of them. I like Joyce Meyer’s amplified Bible for study. Reading from it doesn’t always flow well because of the explanation within the scripture. The Fire Bible flows with footnotes, cross-references and explanations at the bottom of the page.

I read an awesome on in a small group a few years ago. I think the book is in storage along with the name of it and the name of the author! I have contacted someone in the group to see if I can figure it out! This has prompted me to add a study plan on You Version when I get my replacement phone!

I love my quiet time. It allows me to hear and feel the Holy Spirit. When I am doing my devotionals, or Bible Study homework, if I remain still, His will is made known. When I am lead by the Holy Spirit, it never makes sense to man. That’s when I know it is from God! His ways, His plans, His timing!

Bill Johnson has several good books on this subject. I am currently reading his book titled “Hosting the Presence – Unveiling Heaven’s Agenda”.

” Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of thy faithful , and en-kindle in us the fire of Your Love” ! I pray this prayer just about every day, Oh so much in one verse, ” but you have received the Holy Spirit and he dwells within you”……….. and in Romans, ….the Spirit helps in our weakness, we do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us through wordless groans…….. and oh so many other scriptures ………this coming Sunday is Pentecost…….when after many days of prayer, after Jesus told them to go to Jerusalem and wait for the promise of the Father…and in Acts : 24:4 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing , mighty wind and it filled the whole house…….and verse 8………..and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit…………….let us pray…..that each one of us this coming Sunday….after we have been waiting ……..during all these days of uncertainty, of just trusting God for His plan and purpose in all of this…….let us pray that Holy Spirit would come on each one of us, afresh, in newness, wherever each one of us may be in our walk with Jesus, ” fill us afresh, O Lord Our Father, come Holy Spirit , come ! yes Dave there are so many books about Holy Spirit, so many, I love Benny Hinn’s books on Holy Spirit, and also Katherine Ruonala shares her experiences with Holy Spirit in ” Living in the Miraculous” and “Life with the Holy Spirit”, of which I am going to read again after this. Yes, as we all agree together for this virus to cease and desist in its spread all around the world, and lifting up all in Brazil that are being so affected and praying for each and every person and family in this community for healing and health in body , and soul, in Jesus Name I pray, Amen.
