5.18.20 – Daily Dose of Worship. 1 John 2:17. Fade away.

PRAYERS: Prayers up for Alyce who lost her son to an overdose. He was 39.

DEVOTION: “And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever.” – ‭‭1 John‬ ‭2:17

Fading away. Such a wonderful set of words in this context. We have this world that we live in. Our temporary home. Something we should take care of for sure but not something we should crave. Not something we should invest too heavily in.

Interesting choice of words, no? We definitely need to invest in all that happens in this world but the way we do it should be guided and steered by our relationship with God.

The consequences of pleasing God? Living forever. Not too bad. Something I could definitely get used to 🙂

So. Let’s again focus not on the world, not on the things that it offers and tempts us with. But let’s focus on all that God tempts us with….love, peace, strength, hope, order.

This is a list I can get used to. I hope you can too.

…this couldn’t hit home any more than it does right now during this season…our world, as we know it, as we made it, is being reshaped. Thank God for God

Jer 29: 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

Synonyms of prosper are flourish and thrive…and…bear fruit

Col 1:10 so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God,

ahhhh,,,I just love the Word… I love the peace it brings… (again and again and again…I run to the Father)

Remember that our time on this earth is but a whisp in the big scheme. Know that God is by your side and carries us when we fall and lifts is up everytime. Put your trust in him fully and he will provide.

AMEN ! Our loving Father, wants only what is best for us ! God is for me! , not against me ! We have only to walk out side the four walls of whatever home we have, and look up and all around to know how much He cares. And in our emotional life , yes we have to tune out the enemy always saying , “your never enough , no matter what you do “! but I can say I know that !, but I am IN JESUS ! I am HIS GLORY in an earthen vessel. As I die to the world every day, yes daily , go to the cross, to lay down my will, my wants and desires and ask only for HIS ! Oh how I fail, and fall down, over and over again, but the mind blowing fact is He will never be finished with me, with any of us,each day we are being transformed , I love what Jude says, “Now to Him who is able, to keep you from stumbling. And to present you faultless! Before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy! Love,Peace, Strength, Order, these will remain ! Yes this world is fading away, may I see the eternal each day!!! Continued prayers for all in the MNW group, my heart breaks for Alyce and her family, praying for the peace and comfort only Jesus can supply at this time and all who are hurting, I pray for strength and peace and joy in their souls Amen
