4.4.20 – Daily Dose of Worship. Psalm 91:14. Seek.

PRAYER: Please continue to pray for an end to this pandemic.

DEVOTION: “Because he loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.” – Psalm 91:14

We did a study on 2 Chronicles 7 the other day in our small group on a Zoom call. It made me think of this verse as well. Here’s what 2 Chronicles 7:14 says:

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

God is pretty adamant about us acknowledging, recognizing and seeking Him. It’s actually pretty crucial to these other things working out. He mentions seeking Him first in Matthew 6:33. “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God.”

So….if it’s mentioned this many times in His word. Thinking it might be pretty important.

So, here we are, in the midst of all the craziness of life and God is just saying…seek me, look to me, acknowledge me, trust me, have faith in me, live for me.

Yet…what are we doing? Seeking control of our own lives and giving Him the backseat. Let’s be honest with ourselves. Does God have 100%?

Truthfully. No. At least in my life, He’s definitely got a bunch but 100%? That means everything. I think I’ve got some things and have him involved in others….mmm….not quite the way it works.

So today. Seek Him. Acknowledge Him. Believe Him. Today…..faith first.
