4.27.20 – Daily Dose of Worship. 1 John 4:10. Sacrifice.

PRAYER: Please pray for so many prayer requests on our livestream tonight.

DEVOTION: “This is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.” – 1 John 4: 10

Sometimes we get caught up in ourselves and our own thoughts and lives that we make it about us. It’s not. It’s about Jesus and His sacrifice for us. That’s it.

Our egos get in the way of our understanding of this sometimes. We sometimes can’t quite comprehend the sacrifice made. The pain. The humiliation. The torture that He experienced on our behalf.

It should bring us to tears. Someone died for you. Someone died for me.

For this I am grateful. As grateful as I can be.

Father, help us to remember more and more, the sacrifice made for our freedom.

    Amen
Mel Gibson’s version of THE PASSION was our first look at some of what Jesus had to endure. Glossing over the taunting and beatings will not bring us to our knees as quickly as the truth will. This year, Easter was stripped of ceremony and decoration… it truly became about Resurrection Sunday. Wow…life changing..but before our lives even began

I hate to think about the pain he endured for us but sometimes I think we must so we can fully understand the extent of his sacrifice and how much he loved us. Although the ‘fully’ is only as much as we can understand!

May we always sacrifice ourselves for God. He will fill us to overflowing so that we can share with others. Thank you God.
