4.1.20 – Daily Dose of Worship. Psalm 91:11. Angels.

PRAYER: Please pray for an end to this pandemic. For Gods mercy on our nation and world.

DEVOTION: “For he will order his angels to protect you wherever you go.” – Psalms‬ 91:11

Angels. I’ve never done much studying on them. I certainly understand their significance and that there’s a few standouts mentioned in the Bible but digging a little deeper tonight into who they are and what this verse actually means….

Here’s the definition from the internet. An angel is a messenger of God, characterized as having human form with wings and a halo. … The word angel derives from the Greek angelos, meaning “messenger.” It is used in the Bible to denote God’s attendants, with angels often depicted as being guardians of humans.

So. Guardians of humans. I like that. We have these spiritual beings that are watching over us and protecting us. God is ordering angels to protect us if we meet the conditions of the previous verses….making the Lord our refuge and shelter. Inviting Him into it all. Into the good, the bad, the worry, the fear, the joy, the uncertainty. All of it.

This idea points back to something that we’ve discussed before. Giving God all of it…not just the small stuff but the big stuff too. And all the in between stuff.

So today. Angels are watching over you. God is inviting you to make him your refuge. Your strength. Your shelter. Let him in.

God, we welcome you, thank you and give you the glory in it all.

…and all the stuff in between…yes! I think it easier to give God the tragedies than it is to give Him our daily life. The Word says to cast ALL your cares, the more I give up the happier I am. I want peace all day, every day no matter what is happening. It has taken me awhile to accept the idea of angels all around me, it was almost suffocating to think I was surrounded. The other day the devotional spoke of dodging a bullet, how many bullets were caught by these angels? What would life be like if they were not around to intervene? If I put God in charge of my life I have to accept how He operates…peace comes from embracing it…

Amen ! A beautiful picture Dave ! I was asked to volunteer to take an off day today, and it is a blessing to me , for rest, reflection and prayer and reading ! It is so good to know, God will send a messenger to us when we may need it , and I can personally relate to this ! Just remember the story in Genesis and what the angels did for Lot and his family ! We can praise Him, continually ! no matter the circumstances, even a world wide pandemic, ………” if the rocks cry out in worship, so will I, SO WILL I,”
Continuing in prayer for all !
