3.9.20 – Daily Dose of Worship. Ephesians 4:31-32. Which one?

PRAYER: Please pray for Shirley who is struggling to find more time with God.

DEVOTION: “Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.” – Ephesians‬ ‭4:31-32‬

These are tough words. Bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, slander, evil. All of these words make me think of things that detract us and pull us away from God. Really, anything associated with these words or attributes are things that are not of God. Things that would easily pull us away from Him and who He is.

Then, the other words take over…..kind, tender hearted, forgiving. These words remind me of God. Remind me of His goodness, his peace, his mercy. These are words that shine throughout who He is. These are characters from heaven. These are what we should strive for.

So. Today. Where do you lean? Or…where have you leaned today? Maybe it’s a day to day thing with you. Where one day you are leaning one way and another day it’s the opposite.

I think the point here is to lean on consistency. Lean on being consistently forgiving, kind, good.

God. Lead us. Lead us in your ways. Help us to be forgiving, tender hearted and kind.

    Good word, Dave!!
Having read this, I paused and I asked God to search me for any of these evil attributes! I pray that I can be more identified by being kind, tenderhearted, and forgiving! However, during my prayer this morning (while at work) my phone rang 3 times and my distracted thoughts interrupted my prayer. Distraction and busy-ness are my evil words lately; for this I ask for prayer!
