3.30.20 – Daily Dose of Worship. Psalm 91:9. Refuge.

PRAYER: Please continue to pray for an end to this pandemic. God’s mercy on our nation and world.

DEVOTION: “If you say, “The LORD is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling” – Psalm 91:9

This notion of God being our dwelling place. Our home. Our refuge.

A refuge is a place of shelter. Somewhere safe. Somewhere safe from trouble, danger or pursuit. Moses is describing God as this safe place. This place where we can go for safety. I think some of us maybe get hung up in our egos. “Oh, we’ve got this, no need to surrender, to go to a safe place, I can handle this.”

The short answer? No you can’t. No I can’t. We need a refuge. A shelter. Even if what was happening outside wasn’t happening. We still need a refuge. We need a Savior. There is no other course of action except to surrender the idea that we don’t need Him.

We need Him. Every hour, every minute, every second.

Our refuge, our fortress, our dwelling place. Our home. All that we have and all that we will ever be is found in Him. Moses is telling us in plain words here. The Lord is our refuge.

Today. Find refuge in your Savior. Find safety. Find home.
