PRAYER: Please continue to pray for an end to this pandemic. For God’s mercy on our land.
DEVOTION: “You will only see it with your eyes and witness the punishment of the wicked.” – Psalm 91:8.
This verse is prefaced by this one: Though a thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand, no harm will come near you.
Moses is talking about how we’ll see the thousands fall by our side. We’ll witness it with our eyes.
No doubt about it at all. We are living in perilous times. Times that are bringing anxiety and fear. In the midst of this unfolding before our eyes, we are forced to take actions as we have never taken them before. This segregation and solitude goes against our human nature and our desire to help and serve.
Yet, we are watching it all with our eyes. Just as Moses talks about in this verse. In front of our eyes there is pain, hurt and suffering. In front of our eyes there is loneliness, depression and uncertainty.
But…in front of our eyes there is hope. Hope amongst it all. People are stepping up like never before. People are serving more. Saving more. Helping more . People are reaching out more. Changing attitudes more. Changing desires. Changing minds.
In front of our eyes. There is Jesus.
