PRAYER: Please continue to pray for an end this pandemic.

DEVOTION: “For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease.” – Psalm 91:3

As we continue to dig through this Psalm, it’s incredible how incredibly relevant this all is. How timely the Bible is and how it continues to speak directly to us in this day & age. Is it only me that’s feeling this way?

Moses writing directly to us in 2020, so many years after he wrote this Psalm. Who knew that in 2020 we would be battling this unseen enemy and that the words that Moses wrote all those years ago would be a) extremely relevant and b) extremely comforting and timely? God knew. God knows.

Today, Moses is telling us that our God will rescue us. Even when we feel like we don’t deserve rescuing or when we don’t see how a rescue is possible, God rescues. He’s in the business of rescuing us from ourselves. Our stress. Our fear. Our doubt. Our faults. Our lies. Our hatred. Our anger. The list goes on and on and on doesn’t it? So many of us fall prey to so many diseases that infect our souls and our hearts. Diseases that the world fosters & invents. Diseases that we don’t even realize we are succumbing to. Envy, lust, greed, pride. This list goes on….

What a tangled web we weave. But…..Jesus.

Here. With the forgiveness of a Savior. He is here.

So today. Be rescued by our Savior. Be rescued from your fears. Be rescued from all of it. God is here. Jesus is here. Ready to wrap you in His arms and rescue you.

Amen ! Yes, itsnt it just incredible how these words of comfort of the surety of the Love of our Savior Our King and Protctor are for us now! Rreading in other translations too, NKJ says, “Surely” He ” will” deliver you from the snare or the trap of the enemy ! and the Life Recovery Bible, For He rescues you from every trap, and protects you from the fatal plague.! Words of comfort , peace and yes, joy ! We can ” run to the Father” and He wraps us up in His love and protection ! So many people, those ones so fearful, are attributing God to be the one sending this pandemic ! Our God is a good, good Father and it says in this verse, He ” rescues” from ” every trap of the enemy”, who is the destroyer. It is so fluid in health care facilities now, we are all responding with what we know to do with protocols changing constantly, but above all , THERE IS HOPE ! Continued prayers , for all !
