3.23.20 – Daily Dose of Worship. Psalm 91:2. Refuge.

PRAYER: Please pray for an end to this pandemic. Pray for mercy. Pray for healing. Pray for hope.

DEVOTION: “I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.” – Psalm 91:2

Trust. There’s that word again, it keeps coming up in my life. So many times I’ve been stumbling over this word…in the last few weeks and months. Trust. Let’s look at it.

Trust (noun); firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something.

So, the Psalmist here is giving us his unwavering statement about his trust in the Lord. Saying that the Lord is his refuge, his fortress. Someone in whom He trusts. So. That begs the question. Do we trust him as the Psalmist did?

A refuge is defined as a condition of being safe or sheltered from pursuit, danger, or trouble.

How incredibly fitting is all of this in the times that we are in. Moses, the author of Psalm 91 is stating some serious truths here. He is putting into writing his faith, trust & hope in the Lord. Stating it, writing it down so that it stays permanent. It’s not a fleeting thought or an idea. It’s a fact in his mind. A permanent statement.

He trusts the Lord. He takes refuge in the Lord. He states that the Lord is his fortress.

Powerful! How incredibly relevant is the Bible in this day and age. How relevant is just this short Psalm.

Today. Tonight. This morning. Whenever you are reading this. Read it again and again. Meditate on it. The Lord is our strength. Our hope. Our fortress. Our refuge. Someone who is deserving of our trust. Lean into this in a powerful way. Let the words soak into your soul. Soak into your heart. Soak into your fear. Into your anxiety. Into your stress. Let these words soak deep into who you are. God is our refuge and our fortress. In Him we can trust. Today.

Amen ! So be it !!!!! I will say !!! it is important to say out loud ! these precious words !! Yes, Lord Jesus, You are my refuge!! You are my fortress!! and I will trust in You ! ! I have been sharing this Psalm with my co-workers, encouraging them to trust the Lord, and so many others, to speak out this prayer, every single day.
Continued prayers for all !~!~! My favorite song you sang last night Dave, was , to pull down all those

Amen! Trust is the Only One that is in control is the only thing to do! I guess there were some issues with the screen freezing during worship but it worked fine at work but I probably didn’t see it because my phone was in my pocket most of the time! What mattered was I had something else to focus on when there was very little to do but I had to be there! I am thinking there is a lesson in that! Praying for this affected by Covid-19 and that means everyone since we are affected in one way or another! Thanks again Dave!
