3.22.20 – Daily Dose of Worship. Psalm 91:1. Shadow.

PRAYER: Continue to pray for healing. In our nation. In our world.

DEVOTION: “Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High, will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.” – Psalm 91:1

Shelter. Most are seeking this right now. Seeking shelter in our homes, apartments, condos and more. Shelter is incredibly important right now. Shelter is what keeps us from the elements, from the danger, from whatever is lurking outside in the darkness.

This Psalm focuses first on shelter. How important it is and how God provides shelter for us. We rest in the shadow of our God. He provides shelter in his shadow. He provides hope in his shadow. He provides strength in his shadown.

We normally don’t equate the darkness of a shadow with a place of light but resting in the shadow of the almighty is a light that outshines all others.

I love the photo that is accompanying this devotion. There’s this huge mother lion who is providing shelter for her cub. Her shadow is overshadowing the cub. The cub knows that he is safe in the shadow of his mother.

Today. Know that you are safe in the shadow of your Father. Know that He is here with you. Watching. Guiding. Protecting.

God. Let your shadow fall on all of us.

Yes, living in the shelter of The Most High God, we are covered, protected, secure, resting in the everlasting arms. Songs are singing in my head since I woke up, cleaving, cleaving, safe and secure from all these harms……………..resting in the everlasting arms. And I woke up to the words of th Abba Father……………Abba, I belong to You !!! The Lord speaks to us, so often, through songs and music, such a gift He has given to us !! I was continuing in Philippians yesterday, and read that while Paul and Silas were shackled to iron clasps on hands and ankles , and bleeding and sore, they lifted their voices and sang praises and thanksgiving to God ! And THEN the whole prison shook with an earthquake, and the chains that bound them fell off! How true this is for us too, when we sing praise and worship to Jesus, who saved us, we are freed from physical and emotional chains that bind us !!! Hallelujah! THEN the jailer was going to kill himself thinking all the prisoners left, but Paul said, do not harm yourself, we are here ! I am going to remember this story as I go back to work today! God is sending me to be where the people are who are afraid and fearful of this virus and I pray to be, in my words and actions today, a reflection of Jesus.!!!!!!!

God has got this. We have been through situations before. This is a good time to slow down….reflect on what God has in mind for our lives. We are all created with a purpose…with a mission in life. Now is a good time to seek God’s Wisdom and connect with what He wants our life to look like. I have Jeremiah 29:11 posted up where I can see each day…I know He has good plans for my life …in fact all of our lives.. plans to Bless us. Stay the course.
