3.21.20 – Daily Dose of Worship. Psalm 91.

“Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him.

For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease. He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.

Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day. Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday.

Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you, these evils will not touch you. Just open your eyes, and see how the wicked are punished.

If you make the Lord your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter, no evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home. For he will order his angels to protect you wherever you go. They will hold you up with their hands so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone.

The Lord says, “I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name. When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them. I will reward them with a long life and give them my salvation.””

Thanks Dave! So helpful in these times! I watch the news and see the fear and panic of so many over this virus. The extremes that people are going to to stay safe is heartbreaking when all they need is to trust in the Lord! Stay well!

It is so amazing and wonderful, that Our Lord and God had given us the answers and consolation to all that is going on in the world today…………so long ago…..when the words to this Psalm was written. Reading in Philippians this morning as well…….and with Paul, I can say that I am confident too that it is God who works in ……………all of us…………..both to will and to do ………….for His good pleasure. And I can trust in the Lord with all my heart, and I will not rely on my own understanding…. and trust HIM with all my heart, for all the outcomes……….continuing in prayer..for all !!!

Wow! This Psalm keeps showing up in my life the last three weeks! Did you know that Young Life participants are also focusing on this Psalm? 😉 And, have you ever heard of the song On Eagle’s Wings? The song is based on this Psalm and I just shared it a few weeks ago! Here is the link. https://www.hopetoinspireyou.com/2020/03/10/in-the-palms-of-his-hands/

I feel like the world has changed and it keeps changing. There is no rule book, no past experience or a consistent plan of action. This story is being written and rewritten daily. We do have one constant, that is God’s story, the story that was written long ago is still His Story today. He sheltered us then, He will shelter us now We can’t hold chaos but we can hold hope.
