3.2.20 – Daily Dose of Worship. John 15:7-8. Abide.

PRAYER: Please pray today for Tennessee and the damage there. The lives lost. The families broken.

DEVOTION: If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples. John 15:7–8

I wrote a song a while back based on this verse. It’s called “We Will Remain”. The idea is simple. The implementation is the difficult part.

Let’s touch on the “words abide in you” part.

So we have this very long book, with tiny print and story after story of this man who came and did so many amazing things.

Then we have time. Time that gets stolen from us every day by so many preoccupations. TV, internet, other books, work, life….the list goes on.

So abiding in Jesus. Wait…we have to work at that? Yes. We do. The world will not just let us have a relationship with Him. We need to fight for it. Dedicate time, effort to it. Lay aside specific times each day to build it, reinforce it and dig deeper into it.

So. The reason we do these devotions every day. So that we may abide in Him and His words may abide in us.

Today. Let the words abide in you.

Prayers up for so many this morning! This is one my most favorite chapters in the bible, I love how Jesus talks to us in these chapters of John, and a confirmation for me this morning Dave, as I turned to Proverbs 8:17 ” I love those who love Me, and those who seek me diligently will find me. !! You are so right that it does require a great deal of effort on our part , to ” spend that time with Jesus”, and on our travels , praying your songs, help with that, to sing to Him, and worship Him, ‘To Remain in You ” , Jesus, as we journey to all our lifes happenings today Continued prayers up for the show tonight and tomorrow in South Jersey , as you share the love of Jesus in song and story, and draw others to Him !!!! Changing lives, one heart at a time !
