3.12.20 – Daily Dose of Worship. James 4:8. Clean.

PRAYER: Please pray for Heather. That she would hear God’s voice and hear His direction. Please pray for Brianna tonight who is suffering with a cold.

DEVOTION: “Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world.” – James‬ ‭4:8‬

Kind of a relevant and timely scripture. With the mandates going out hourly to wash your hands….few people will think of it from the Biblical perspective. We are called to wash our hands and purify our hearts.

Let’s not forget that as wonderful as we think we all are, we are still sinners. Still in need of a Savior every minute of every hour of every day. We get so caught up in the world and it’s treasures. God is calling us away from that. We are divided between the world and God. We constantly need to be cleansing our hearts, minds and bodies. Getting the stench and filth of the world all over us. God demands that we continually wash our hands and hearts with His clean and wonderful goodness.

Let’s think about that as we wash our hands.

God, clean our hearts and rid us of our devotion to this world. Lead us deeper into a devotion to You.

Powerful and poignant. We need to be clean when we accept Christ. We need to be continually cleaned by him. Let it be a daily reminder that we are still sinners, but God is always or saviour and defender. Give fully unto him and you will be cleansed
