PRAYER: Please pray for our president and leaders. Regardless of your view, we are instructed to pray for our leaders. – We recently read through this verse in 1 Timothy 2:1-2 – I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.
DEVOTION: “May the Lord be with your spirit. And may his grace be with all of you.” – 2 Timothy 4:22
Speaking yesterday on rewards. Today. Let’s talk about Paul’s last words to Timothy.
The Lord is with our Spirit. Meaning, in my opinion, that He is with us not just physically and emotionally but spiritually too. Which means that he embodies our spirit when we let Him. What does that mean? That God’s spirit is in our spirit which leads to us being that reflection of Him in our daily walk.
Our spirits are one of those intangible, almost unexplainable parts of our lives. When you say some has a gentle spirit or a loving spirit, where does that come from? How does that work? It’s something ingrained in our souls and our being.
I want to have His spirit living in me. Guiding, leading, yearning for me. Yearning for change and direction. I want people to see His spirit in me. Living in a way that reflects compassion, grace, mercy, love
Does it happen every day and in every situation? No. Can it? No. our human-ness takes over. Can we strive for it? Of course.
Today. Strive for it. Dig into it. And may the Spirit of the Lord, who brings us freedom, live deep within you.
