2.27.20 – Daily Dose of Worship. Psalm 121:2. The Maker.

PRAYER: Please pray for this weekend. I’m out on tour over the next 4 days and will be moving around a lot. Please pray for safety in travels, hearts to be open and kids to be sponsored.

DEVOTION: “My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.” – Psalms‬ ‭121:2‬

Sometimes we think that we are all alone. That no one is with us or cares about us. We feel that we are taking on the world by ourselves and there is no help. Ever feel that way?

Then….we trip over this verse in the Psalms. A promise direct from God who tells us that he is our help. The one who made the heavens and earth. Pretty strong resume right there for helping you and me with our problems.

It’s easy to play the pity game. Oh woe is me. I’m alone. No one cares. God tells us that his yoke is easy and his burden is light. Easier probably then the torture we put ourselves through as we wrestle with our own issues.

God makes them easier. Let him in. Let him give you hope. Let him bring hope into your darkness. Love into your despair.

Call on him today. The creator wants to create something new in you.

Psalm 121 is my favorite psalm. The God of Israel never sleeps or slumbers. He is aware of us for the entire 24 hours in our day. The sun will not harm us by day or the moon at night. He watches our coming and going. What an awesome God

We are never alone. God is always working in and through us and He sends little reminders all of the time. I remember one time driving up route 3 in NH coming home to Manchester and feeling a bit alone at the moment with some things weighing on my mind and what do I see but a billboard with a scripture on it which totally change my perspective on things.

The feelings of being an “island” has been overtaking me these last few days, something that seems to ring so true in my life. I keep trying to lean into Him, knowing He is the only one that matters. His view of me, my identity found in Him is all that matters….that truth needs to seep further and further into my heart. He does make His Presence known for which I am so grateful.
