12.30.20 – Daily Dose of Worship. A study on prayer. Part 44. The desert?

DEVOTION: “If you have not chosen the Kingdom of God, it will make no difference in the end what you have chosen instead” – Thomas More.

Then Lewis explains this a little bit. “Will it really make no difference whether it was women or patriotism, cocaine or art, whiskey or a seat in the Cabinet, money or science? Well, surely no difference that matters. We shall have missed the end for which we are formed and rejected the only thing that satisfies.

Then he ends this chapter with this:

“Does it matter to a man dying in the desert, by which choice of route he missed the only well?” (pg 104)

I think maybe we could end there..but…

I personally don’t want to miss the end for which I was formed. I try daily to not reject the only thing that truly satisfies.

We, as a community, together, we are seeking Jesus. We are seeking the only true thing that satisfies. We are seeking the only true water from the well.

As we close this year out and begin a new year. Take a minute and step into the water. Drink deep from the well that leads us out of the desert and gives us true life, purpose and peace.

Seek ye first the kingdom of God. Be filled with the mana from heaven. Be nourished. It is thru him that we grow stronger in our faith. Thank you Jesus
