11.9.20 – Daily Dose of Worship. A study on the Holy Spirit. Part 121. Sacrifice.

DEVOTION: “Daniel knew the time in which he was living, he responded to God and a nation was saved. Nehemiah met God’s conditions for thi time and the city was rebuilt. God has made the conditions, He will pour out His Spirit. If we do not go on, we will have it to face. It may be up to us to bring the Gospel to the nations. We can with the world for Jesus. We can turn the tap on. What is the condition? It is unconditional surrender. “Not by might nor by power but by My Spirit, says the Lord of Hosts (Zech 4:6) (pg 206)

So. We come back to surrender. The Spirit in us needing us to surrender.

Not partial surrender but unconditional surrender.

If you look at it in a broader light. Our surrender may be the turning point for someone else. It might bring the life, breath and hope of Jesus to someone else that we come in contact with. It might be the first domino to fall in a chain of lives that are affected by you. By Jesus in you. By you being a reflection of Jesus today.

We can look back at these key characters in the Bible. How their actions led to change. How their actions led to victory in the lives of others.

Look at Jesus. His single action of sacrifice on the cross led to victory for all mankind. For you. For me.

We complain about small sacrifice. We complain about being uncomfortable. We complain about this, about that, about small inconveniences.

It’s time for surrender. It’s time for action.

Dear heavenly father. Thank you for your love and guidance in our lives. May we be humbled by you and by your spirit in us. May we be a reflection of you. May our words bring joy not hate unto others this and every day. Thanks you Jesus. For this I pray joy over all that know me and those that I’ve yet to meet. Amen

If either my sister or I get too much into the suffering, the other will say “but it sure beats hanging on a cross”. That usually puts an end to the complaining.
