11.4.20 – Daily Dose of Worship. A study on the Holy Spirit. Part 116. More.

DEVOTION: “God wants to promote us. He wants us to get away from our own foolishness, and get to a definite place, believing that He exists and that “He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” (Hebrews 11:6) (pg 198)

A rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

I want to diligently seek Him. I love Smith’s words here. “He wants us to get away from our own foolishness.”

Oh how foolish we are sometimes. Holding on to habits and routines as we discussed a few days back. By the way…have you worked on that at all?

How do we diligently seek Him? By doing exactly what we’re doing…but do it more. Pray more, read more, spend more time with Him and seek Him more. Worship more. Love more. Respect more. Have more patience. Have more mercy. Grace. Compassion. Generosity.

All of it. We need more of Jesus and less of us. All the time.

PRAYER: Today. Pray for more of God.

I am involved with a study on Romans. The leader is moving slowly through the book to do an in-depth study. Last week, the leader focused on Godliness and that it always comes before righteousness in the Bible. In Exodus we read about the 10 commandments, the first 5 are about our relationship with God. The last 5 are our relationship with others. Abraham believed God and became righteous. Jesus says love God and love your neighbor. Seek first the kingdom of God. Jesus was always obedient to his Father, Jesus makes us righteous. Yes, God must be greater!
