11.20.20 – Daily Dose of Worship. A study on prayer. Part 6. The conversation.

DEVOTION: “An ordinary simple Christian kneels down to say his prayers. He is trying to get into touch with God. But if he is a Christian he knows that what is prompting him to pray is also God: God, so to speak, inside him.” (Pg 6)

We pray to God because God prompts us to pray. We pray to God because wants us to pray. He wants to have a conversation with us and wants us to know Him better.

We pray because all that is in us, as Christians, is drawing us closer to God. Closer to who He is in and around us. We pray because we need the Savior. We need the helper.

The Spirit inside us prompts us to pray. Prompts us to develop and nurture our relationship with God so that we can know Him more and be Jesus more in the world.

Today. The conversation continues. Let the Spirit in you fill you with the desire to pray more. To welcome God into every moment of your life.

PRAYER: Pray today that God would continue to fill you with His desires. That you would know Him more and seek Him more.

And God in His love, mercy and grace for us has given us so many ways to call upon Him, in the Psalms

Ps 34: 1 ” I will bless the Lord at all times, His praise shall continually be in my mouth. ” vs 3 ”

” Oh magnify the Lord with me, And let us exalt His name together. ” Psalm 30 2 O Lord my God, I cried out to You, And You have healed me

vs 11 ” You have turned for me my mourning into dancing, You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness, ” So grateful for this day Lord, my times are in Your hands. Amen and Amen

I have my morning coffee with God. I lay it all out like a kid talking to her mom. I rat on my ‘siblings’, I whine about my troubles. I cry, I vent, i justify, I have the freedom to say whatever I want…this is my private conversation…right? but it is with God. God, like the mom, does not take side, so my words magnify before me., they become a mirror. If I complain about my ‘sibling’ I am reminded that God’s grace is extended to them also. If I cry about my aches and illness I am reminded that he is the God of hope and healing. God has an answer for every need! my conversations are changing…as my mind is being renewed my words are more controlled, more in line with God’s word.
more of Jesus less of me

Prayer is so cleansing. Prayer boosts me up and helps me be a stronger person and disciple for God. But sometimes I will hear God just say to me SHHHH and I will slow myself down and listen. God is amazing. He loves us thru it all.

Yes sometimes we have to just be still and know that HE is God, thank you Jesus for your grace and mercy and most of all for your unconditional love when we dont get it just right , help us God to learn to listen more intently

Going through all of these again today as my book just arrived. Enjoying this.
As I do I’m thinking the Lords prayer as that’s how Jesus taught us how to pray.
    His will be done.

    Also think of Pray as:
    P – Praise God
    R – Repent
    A – ask
    Y – Yield to God
