11.19.20 – Daily Dose of Worship. A study on prayer. Part 5. Speak.

DEVOTION: “Words without thoughts never to heaven go,” says the King in Hamlet. Simply to say prayers is not to pray; otherwise a team of properly trained parrots would serve as well as men for our experiment. You cannot pray for the recovery of the sick unless the end you have in view is their recovery.” (pg 5)

So. This is a deep dive already. I wholehearted believe this. You cannot see the outcome if you can’t see the outcome. If you don’t believe in the outcome and if you don’t see the outcome actually happening.

Many people have told me in the past that the reason so many “life coaches” are successful is because they help people see beyond the next few minutes or the next few days.

We have to believe in what we are praying for. It’s not always going to turn out the way that we want it to but we at least have to believe in it. Believe that it will come to pass. Believe that our God hears and considers each and every request.

We spoke about our words on Tuesday night on our member only Worship Underground Bible Study. We spoke about how speaking words into existence change and alter the path of our lives. We can’t speak negativity and expect positivity. It just doesn’t work.

Same principal here. Believe in what you are praying for. Let the words come forth out of your mouth and give utterance to them verbally, out loud. Listen to and hear your words pray. It makes a difference.

PRAYER: Today, pray out loud. Let your voice reverberate through the room. Let your voice move the air around you as you speak your requests, concerns, joys to God.

Full disclosure! I am an internal thinker and an internal pray-er. The very first time I prayed out loud I was in a group of much more mature Christians than I. It felt very uncomfortable…. UNTIL…. I mindfully removed ME (my ever failing human-ness) and allowed the Holy Spirit to move through and into what I believed to be the outcome of my prayer! I believed in the outcome of my prayer and the words were given to me! Amazing!!

      Isaiah 43:19-21

      19 Behold, I am doing a new thing;
now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?
I will make a way in the wilderness
      and rivers in the desert.

Many people say, “Seeing is believing, but with God the opposite is true; “Believing is seeing.”

“Faith is the substance of things not seen, the evidence, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1 KJV.

Faith is the substance of hope. When we have faith that God hears our prayers and will answer, we have the boldness to speak.

God’s Word is His revealed will. When we have Scripture to back up our prayers, we know we are praying God’s will.

We have Scripture for healing, protection, help, peace, etc. When the devil comes to steal, kill and destroy; we can pray with confidence to our loving Heavenly Father for His Promises to prevail.

Pray boldly and out loud. Let the devil hear you pray. Let your own ears hear you pray. Let heaven hear you pray.

I’m so glad to read this –i needed the encouragement because I have doubted that my prayers weren’t working when praying for my sister while she was in the hospital and it coulda been that I was afraid because of the situation that put her there -I was trying my best to let my faith rule my heart — so thanks Dave for your encouraging words
