11.16.20 – Daily Dose of Worship. A study on prayer. Part 2. Believe.

DEVOTION: “The question then arises, “What sort of evidence would prove the efficacy of prayer?” The thing we pray for may happen, but how can you ever know it was not going to happen anyway? Even if the thing were indisputably miraculous it would not follow that the miracle had occurred because of your prayers.” (pg 3)

Ah….this is an interesting paragraph for sure. I’m sure that we have all had this conversation with ourselves and with God, right? Did this happen as a result of prayer? Would this have not happened had I not been praying for it? The questions go on and on and the doubt continues to snowball in our minds.

Then, we think about faith. About what it takes to be a Christian. To believe in Jesus. To believe in the Bible and all that is in it.

Hebrews 11:1 says this, “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”

We pray by faith. We believe by faith. We build our relationship with God by faith.

So faith is the building block for prayer. Faith and belief. Trust.

So today. Let’s start working on faith. On belief. On our ability to believe more. Trust more. On our relationship with God.

Let’s pray for our prayer life. Pray for our unbelief.

It’s a good place to start.

First of all, prayers up for you, Nela.
Second, I have experienced answered prayers. I believe that God does hear us and does answer us although not always in the way we wanted or expected. Faith is definitely important. Faith that God will answer in His time, not ours.
I’m excited to dig deeper into learning how to be a more effective pray-er.

Love the word Believe… Believe in Jesus Christ and what He has done. Thank you Lord Jesus. Thank you for being that intersession for us in our prayers, life and for eternal life. So grateful.
