11.10.20 – Daily Dose of Worship. A study on the Holy Spirit. Part 122. Are you breathing?

DEVOTION: “We are in the world to meet the need, but we are not of the world or of it’s spirit.” (John 17: 15-16) We are partakers of the divine nature (2 Peter 1:4) to manifest the life of Jesus to the world. This is God incarnate in humanity.” (pg 208)

Yesterday, we spoke about our sacrifice, our surrender so that others just might see Jesus in us and believe.

How did that make you feel? Were you convicted? Were you upset? Were you guilty?

Here’s the thing. A question like that is not supposed to make us feel any of those things. Being asked that question is supposed to ignite our desire for Christ even more. We’re not supposed to look down on our actions or our life and say that we’re not doing enough. It’s meant to inspire us.

When we look at our lives, when we look at Jesus in our lives, we need to realize that we are in this world to meet the need of the world. What is the need?

Jesus.

Plain and simple. This world needs Jesus. Needs His love now more than ever. We are that love. We are meant to be Jesus to the world. The breath of life that God breathes into us, we are meant to take that and breathe it into others.

Today. Are you breathing out?

Here’s the thing. A question like that is not supposed to make us feel any of those things.<<<<<<<<

    2 Corinthians 5:21
For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

The Holy Spirit convicts us to bring us closer to Jesus, who has already died to make us righteous…he can't die again to take the shame we now feel from conviction…we have to break the cycle of our feelings controlling our thoughts. We have to accept that Christ took it all… God does not show the changes being made to shame us, he shows us so we can glorify him.
