10.7.20 – Daily Dose of Worship. A study on the Holy Spirit. Part 88. Bad/Good.

DEVOTION: “Anything that takes me from a position of where I am in an attitude of worship, peace and joy, where I have a consciousness of the presence of God, where there is an inward moving of the powers of God that makes me able to lift myself up and live in the world as though I were not of it because I am not of it; anything that dethrones me from that attitude is evil.” (pg 145)

Think about your day today. About your day yesterday. What happened? Where were you? What did you read, watch, let into your mind and your soul? Was it good? Was it bad? Was it in between?

The idea here in this paragraph is a powerful one.

We have this Spirit in us that guides us between right and wrong. This Spirit that imparts in us wisdom and health for our souls and yet….we push it away sometimes and “decide” to let in other things that pull us away from our Holy Spirit instincts.

Believe me, we’re all guilty of it. There is no exception to the rule…except Jesus.

As we continue to dig deeper and deeper into who the Spirit is in our lives we have to continually be honest with ourselves. We have to be honest with what we let into our hearts. What we let into our souls.

Are you ready to be honest? Do you have the stamina to maintain the honesty?

If so, let the Spirit in you guide you towards what is right, good, just and holy. Let it take the bad and move it out and bring the good into all that you are and all that you can be.

Let the Spirit lead you today.

PRAYER: Pray today about the bad in your life. Pray that the Spirit in you would battle against it and give you the honesty and the courage to remove it from your life and lifestyle.

That is so true but hard to think about at times, I want to be perfect in Jesus. I know it’s almost impossible at times, but I try not to go beyond what the Spirit of God tells us.
Dear Heavenly Father, I know that I am not perfect like Jesus. I pray in the name of Jesus, that I can be more like Jesus. I know that I’m not perfect, but I will be my best. In Jesus name amen.
