10.31.20 – Daily Dose of Worship. A study on the Holy Spirit. Part 112. Surrender.

DEVOTION: “God has you on this earth for the purpose of bringing out His character in you. He wants to destroy the power of the Devil. He wants to move you so that in the face of difficulties and hardships, you will praise the Lord. “Count it all joy” (James 1:2). You have to take a leap today; you have to leap into the promises. You have to believe that God never fails you; you have to believe it is impossible for God to break His word. He is from “everlasting to everlasting”. (Psalm 90:2) (pg 190)

He wants to move you so that in the face of difficulties and hardships, you will praise the Lord.

So…it all comes down to surrender. Surrendering to the truth that:

God never fails us.

It’s impossible for God to break His word.

That He is everlasting.

Surrendering to the truth and the realization that, amidst our egos and our desires to make things conform to the way that we think they should be….surrender.

Surrender to our own pride so that we can give God complete control. Control over it all.

Difficult..oh yeah. Not easy at all. But…Jesus.

PRAYER: Today, pray for surrender. Surrender to the plan that God has for you.

Free me oh Lord. For my ways are not the way but yours is the way. Release me and speak your life into me. Make me a vessel of your truth and less a decider of my ways. I think that will be my new mantra to say out loud so that I may be more what he wants me to be. It is freeing to say it, but truly strengthening to begin to live it.
Psalm 118:5 Out of my distress I called on the Lord; the Lord answered me and set me free.
Matthew 11:28 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Rest in his loving arms and know that he is always there.
