10.25.20 – Daily Dose of Worship. A study on the Holy Spirit Part 106. Silent.

DEVOTION: “What does the word say? ” Be still and know that I am God.” (Psalm 46:10). This is the place of tranquility, where we know that He is controlling and moving us by the mighty power of His Spirit. This is the place that we need to reach. This prophecy is for us. Truly, God wants to begin this in us.” (Pg 183)

Today. Be still.

Take time, more than 5 minutes and just stop. Take a walk. Sit in a park. Find someplace quiet and let Jesus in.

Let Him into it all. As we spoke about yesterday, listen to His words. So that His words can then be your words and make the change that you need in your life.

God today. Help us to be still. To just stop and let your words fill our souls. Our very beings.

Change us. Speak to us. Let us be still today.

PRAYER: Be still today and listen to God.

Sitting down at the dock the sound of the waves in the distance, The water lapping up against the edge of the dock, the flag flapping in the wind, the occasional call of the seagull! The sunrise isn’t visible because of the clouds, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t there! God speaks to us in many ways if only we would take the time to listen!

Last night, in the balcony (our name for the livestream), we were discussing how to know when it is God speaking. I meant to write this before this morning’s session but ran out of time. God’s timing is perfect because Rachel explained so much in her talk. We spoke of making sure what we hear lines up with the Word. God is consistent. Wil brought up that what we hear may not be what we want to hear. So true! God speaks, without concern with political correctness or worrying if he will hurt our feelings. He is direct. He will also uphold us as we walk out what he has told us. There is a sense of peace, even when we are asked to stretch ourselves…peace in knowing He will work all things out for good. God confirms his word. For me, I will hear a song or a sermon that will speak to the situation. The closer we are to God, the more we will recognize his voice. I know my husband’s voice without him telling me who he is. I don’t always clearly understand…sometimes I don’t want to…sometimes it needs to settle in but I try. I know (almost) the less I argue the quicker I will hear. My God is patient and loving so he is willing to work on me. I don’t have to be perfect; just willing.

Being in quarentine gives me tons of quiet time to reflect. I need to lock down more time before things ramp up soon. God knows my heart and I try to be open to his words and his glory. Than you Jesus for your love.
