10.23.20 – Daily Dose of Worship. A study on the Holy Spirit. Part 104. Change.

DEVOTION: “The Holy Spirit coming upon an individual is capable of changing him, fertilizing his spiritual life, and filling him with such power and grace that he wouldn’t be able to say that anything was impossible but that all things are possible with God. (Matt. 19:26) What could happen, what is possible, if we reach this place and stay in it, if we abide in it?” (pg 181)

Change.

The honest question really is, do you want change? This study on the Holy Spirit has changed me. I’m hoping it has changed you as well. It has made me think more and more about the Spirits’ influence, power and reason for being in my life. It’s made me change the way that I think about how decisions are made and how God moves and works in my life.

So Smith’s question here is a good one. What would happen if we abide in it? Really abide in it?

You see, we often say that we will make the change, but…then life happens. Things take the place of the change and the change sails away on a slow stream. Drifting off into the sunset.

It has to be an intentional change. A change that makes you wake up in the morning and say to yourself, “Today. The change takes place.” And that has to happen every day. For weeks, months on end, until we are waking up and the change becomes the new normal. The new pattern in your life.

Think about the change today. Realizing the power of the Spirit in your life and then letting that power rule, change, influence and burn into your soul.

PRAYER: Today, pray for the change. Pray the our apathy and our lack of wanting to change would be shattered by the change the Holy Spirit wants to bring into our lives.

Wow. I thought Smith’s quote was powerful until I read Dave’s. Let the change become the new normal.

That takes time and dedication, a real commitment. We often don’t take the time to let that happen. We hear something and maybe try it for a while, but then life happens.

We fall back into old habits and patterns. We, or at least I, don’t follow through, don’t take the time to let the change become the new normal.

The Holy Spirit will help us, if we let Him; but we have to make the decision and then follow through.

No more same old, same old. Be intentional, shake off the apathy; Make a firm commitment to yourself to follow through until the change becomes the new normal.

Imagine living in a place, in a mind-set where nothing is impossible. Of abiding in a place where, “God said it, I believe it, and that settles it.”

If God said it in His Word, then it is the Truth. There is nothing impossible with God. Miracles, signs and wonders, miraculous provision, divine favor – nothing is impossible with God.

Talk to the Holy Spirit about it. What do you need? What do you desire for others? How do you want God to use your life? All of it.

Pray about it, then believe. There are no limits and there is nothing impossible with Him.

Change your mindset and let God change your life.

Thank you Jesus for my every breath. Thank you for my every word spoken, every heart beat, every sight I see. Thank you. I look forward to whatever you send my way. I will live joyously in your love. I will take all obstacles in stride and slow down if it becomes more my choice over yours. May I learn to accept your guidance versus mine. You are a glorious father and I will never doubt your help. Thank you
